Welcome to Federal Governmental Relations
Iowa State University's Washington, D.C. office serves as the University's primary link to Congress and the federal government. Our office in the Hall of States is just blocks from the U.S. Capitol. The Federal Government Relations staff, in coordination with the President and university leadership, develops and implements the federal advocacy strategy of ISU.
The Washington, D.C. office provides federal legislators, their staff, and administrative agency personnel with information about the personnel, programs, and accomplishments of the Iowa State University community. The office also serves as a resource for faculty, staff, and students, by providing assistance and information on legislative, regulatory, and policy matters affecting the university community.
Our office helps faculty and campus leaders identify opportunities and secure federal research support; acts as liaison between the leadership of the University and the Iowa Congressional delegation; and strengthens the University's visibility and contributions to national policy by representing the institution in interaction with federal agency personnel, colleagues from peer institutions, and coalitions of university advocates.
